MDHS Mid Term Newsletter

During the two weeks of October 24 - November 7, various MDHS classrooms experienced the Board's commitment to incorporate new technologies to enhance learning. Google Expedition kits provided many MDHS students with the chance to experience field trips through virtual reality. The kits provide students the opportunity to travel the world, as a class, while engaging in thought-provoking discussion as they interact with the virtual destinations. Ask your child if they experienced Google Expedition, and where they may have traveled.

Parent Expo Virtual - What comes after high school?
The "Parent Expo Virtual - What comes after high school?" is an all encompassing full day conference that equips parents of high school students with all the information they need in order to help their children transition into the different pathways open to them upon high-school graduation. Experts from universities, colleges, trades schools, entrepreneurship, special forces all share their insight in a panel discussion about pathways to post-secondary. We discuss financial aid and the new OSAP, we discover tools to combat stress and we learn about 21st Century learning and so much more.
But this event is truly innovative because its virtual! That's right- it's an entirely online event and anyone from across Ontario and Canada can log in via their computer or handheld device and attend these presentations from their homes, cars, offices or cafes. And it's completely FREE! (we are simply requesting registration to ensure our technology can support the numbers)
Everything you'll need to know is on our website
This event is on November 16th - National Parent Involvement Day.
